Knight’s Hill by-election this week – who will you vote for?

A BY-ELECTION, called after former councillor Sonia Winifred admitted she was working for the council, is fast approaching and candidates are gearing up to go head-to-head for votes in Knight’s Hill on August 14.

Ms Winifred is standing again for Labour after quitting her job at Clapham Manor School. She was elected after finishing third in the original election, after two other Labour councillors, on May 22, with 1,911 votes, while the Tories came fourth with 468 votes.

The Lib Dems have also put the same candidate, Robert Hardware, forward – who polled at three per cent of the votes back in May.

The candidates are:

  • Nelly Amos (Independent)
  • Robert Hardware ( Liberal Democrats)
  • Christopher Hocknell (Green Party)
  • Robin Lambert (UKIP)
  • Heidi Nicholson (Conservative)
  • Sonia Winifred (Labour).
