THE POLICE have confirmed they are continuing to investigate cases of historical child sex abuse in Lambeth care homes.
The Met launched Operation Trinity after two allegations in November 2012, and have confirmed that care homes formerly run by Lambeth Council are being investigated.
Police are now probing child sex abuse claims dating as far back as the 70s.
The move comes more than a decade after the close of Operation Middleton, which ran from 1998 to 2003, probing 78 child abuse allegations in Lambeth care homes and resulting in three convictions.
At the time of going to press, three people had been arrested and one had been charged as a result of Operation Trinity.
