Punters flocked to the Grosvenor to see off the popular Stockwell pub last weekend as it hosted its’ last ever night of live music after announcing it will close its’ doors for good.
The landlord of nine years, John Dyson, told the Weekender last month he is closing the pub after being pushed out of the area by gentrification.
He said: “The pub won’t be able to compete anymore. The new locals won’t want noise and live music so near to their flats,” he said.
“There’s a great deal of sadness for me and the community that we’re closing.
“It’s been an interesting nine years with lots of ups and downs.
“We’ve made a massive dent in the community and helped a lot of local bands.”
