One of South East London’s leading performing arts venues, the Albany, has just turned 30, and to celebrate the occasion the art organisation is holding its first fundraising gala.
The Albany in Deptford has helped develop local talent since it began and has played a part in launching the careers of the likes of Elvis Costello and Vic Reeves, as well as hosting a range of creative workshops and working with over 200 community-based groups. This June, the gala is an opportunity for people to give back to the organisation and to help raise money so that it can continue helping local talent.
The evening will be hosted by Dame Joan Ruddock MP and will include a champagne reception, a three-course dinner, entertainment and a live auction and will feature an array of celebrity guests. Gavin Barlow, the Chief Executive of the Albany has said: “we really hope people will get on board and support us however they can!”
The Albany’s fundraising gala will take place on Thursday June 13 from 6.30pm at The Albany, Douglas Way, Deptford, SE8 4AG. Tickets are £120 each and can be booked at http://www.thealbany.org.uk or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
