There’s something you should know about life South of the River, says Gay4Play’s Chris Daniels. With the largest LGBT population in London, Southwark and Lambeth are fast creating a nouveau gay lifestyle all on their own. Here is just a taster for the month ahead:
Cine-Sundays Presents… ‘Dallas Doubles’ at the splendid Victorian Cinema Museum in Kennington with themed fun retro cinema churning out the classics with additional entertainment and cocktails to lubricate your social powers.
April 7, 3pm. Admission: £15
The Velvet Journey’s inspirational two-day workshop, Fear to Freedom, is part of a series of wellbeing workshops on personal inner development for gay men at The Three Stags in Kennington on April 20 and 21 from 9am-6pm. Admission: £275
Ritzy Platform Open Mic is the friendliest place for wannabe poets and musicians to come and do their thing. This is Karaoke for the serious with stars in their eyes!
At The Ritzy Cinema in Brixton. April 9 from 7pm. Admission: Free
Sleazy Michael Presents Sauna and Club Drug Casualties: A panel discussion at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern will see a lively community debate about drugs with an interesting panel of high profile personalities from the ‘scene’. Join in the discussion. May 9 from 7pm. £5 donation.
As if Bermondsey Street could get any gayer! They have to throw in a camp little pink pet shop that seems to have the sole purpose of ‘Bejazzelling’ your pets. Gay4Play simply had to feature Holly & Lil’s collar couture shop. You could be forgiven for thinking that you had walked into a camp extension of the Rob store, but no, this is for your pets – the ultimate in gay statements! Their ‘Emerald City’ collar made with Swarovski Crystals is a riot at £70. You just have to treat yourse… I mean your pet, at this store!
